MPhil in Health, Medicine and Society

 

The MPhil in Health, Medicine and Society has been awarded a Wellcome Trust Masters Programme Award in Humanities and Social Science. This generous funding provides studentships for a total of 8 students between 2019 and 2024.

The Wellcome Trust has made these awards to courses that aim to:

  • Improve students' understanding of health through the humanities or social sciences
  • Prepare students for a career in health-related humanities or social sciience research
  • Build an influential and diverse population of talented researchers.

1-2 studentships will be offered to students commencing an MPhil in Health, Medicine and Society in Autumn 2023. All successful applicants will be considered for a Wellcome studentship by the HMS course managers, using information provided in the Applicant Portal.

What the studentship provides:

  • Fees at the home/UK rate (successful international applicants will have a portion of their fees covered by this award)
  • A stipend of £16,000
  • A contribution to travel and research expenses
